METROPOLE HOTEL CONFIRMS NEW ACTS AND OLD FAVOURITES FOR THIS YEAR’S JAZZ FESTIVAL CLUB

Jazz Dining Experiences on offer again.

The Metropole Hotel has launched the line-up for this year’s Jazz Festival Club, which runs across the October Bank Holiday weekend. The original home of the Cork Jazz Festival is welcoming firm favourites along with some new additions to the bill. 


Music fans can expect a mix of swing, funk, groove and blues from top Irish and international artists.


The line-up includes

Jazz Festival Club favourites The Swing Bandits featuring The Loungeman, The Swing Cats, The Motones, Harry Connolly and Le Hot Club Quintet. Joining them on the bill are new additions New Brass Kings, Chapuiques Brass band, Grooveline and Bobby Mc and the Dukes.


Attendees can move from stage to stage to enjoy the special atmosphere and excitement of the Festival Club, including the recently renovated ballroom and lobby. The Met Bar will be an open venue with live music from 1.30pm daily.


Across the hotel, there will be free live performances from 1.30pm to 5pm on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday afternoons while the music continues from 6.30pm to 2.00am on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Entrance to the Jazz Festival Club in the evenings is for ticket holders only.


There are a number of Jazz Dining Experiences which offer a four-course dinner in the hotel’s new Merchant Restaurant accompanied by live music performances and access to the Jazz Festival Club.


The hotel is also offering weekend breaks with one, two and three night packages including B&B, dinner and entrance to the Jazz Festival Club.

People enjoy coming to The Metropole as they get a flavour of the many different types of music on offer in Cork across the weekend and it’s all under the one roof.”


The Metropole Hotel Jazz Festival Club is strictly an over 23s venue. Tickets are from €45 plus booking fee per person. The Saturday evening is sold out but there are still limited tickets available for the Friday and Sunday nights. There are a range of prices available for the Jazz Dining Experience and Jazz Weekend Breaks.
