ORSO, Cork City’s tiny restaurant with the biggest heart, has introduced a new, great value Prix Fixe Menu offering diners a choice of 3 courses for only €19.00.
The new menu celebrates ORSO’s big, bold flavours, which are inspired by the cuisines of the Southern Mediterranean and North Africa, to name a few. Dishes are bursting with warmth and goodness and focus on seasonal and local ingredients; so diners can expect a frequently changing menu. The Prix Fixe option will be available every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 5 – 7 pm.
The menu, which has been developed by executive chef, Stephen Kehoe, has been warmly welcomed by ORSO’s regulars who enjoy the award-winning restaurant’s casual, top-quality food and affordable prices.
Watermelon, goats cheese
Examples include starters such as ‘Chicken Manti with Tomato Ragu and Toasted Seeds’, ‘Roast Pumpkin, Labneh, Gremolata and Pomegranate’ or ‘Seared Watermelon, Goat’s Cheese, Gremolata and Pomegranate’.
Main courses range from ‘Oregano and Lemon Lamb Shoulder with Feta and Fennel’ to ‘Hake, Spiced Lentils and Poached Egg’. For dessert, choose a ‘Chili Chocolate Pot’ or a traditional ‘Baklava’. Vegetarians and Vegans are very well catered for at ORSO. Bread is baked in the kitchen daily and the restaurant’s unique combination of spices and fresh herbs are blended throughout the day with passion and skill.
Says ORSO’s owner and manager, Dee Munnelly “we feel that this new menu represents not only good value for money, which is very important to us, but it is also the perfect alternative to the heavier dishes that are traditionally associated with winter dining.”
The Prix Fixe option will sit alongside ORSO’s ever-popular breakfast, lunch and evening menus. The restaurant also has a full cocktail and drinks menu which features Elbow Lane’s award-winning range of beers. ORSO prides itself on its coffee and the restaurant regularly hosts Barista Classes.
ORSO is part of the Market Lane group of restaurants which includes Market Lane, Elbow Lane Smokehouse and Brewery and the Castle Café, Blackrock. It is located at 8 Pembroke Street in the city centre. It is also home to the increasingly popular Market Lane Chef Sessions ‘pop-ups’ which take place once a season.
