The Franciscan Well Brewpub on North Mall, brought home the title of Best Tourist Bar in Ireland to Cork at the Sky Bar Awards last month.
Now in its 20th year the Franciscan Well Brewpub has, over the past two decades, become an institution on the Cork map for locals and tourists alike, serving an eclectic range of drinks from beers brewed on site, Irish and international craft brews, spirits, wines and cocktails, to be enjoyed in their large beergarden, their cosy bar or upstairs in their hand crafted cocktail bar.  ‘As craft beer has boomed over the past decade, brewery driven travel has followed suit & we are delighted to be recognised as a destination for tourists who come to Cork to learn about our rich brewing culture’ Says Kate Clancy, Marketing Manager of the Brewpub

The brewpub has also become the hub of education for the drinks industry in Cork. They provide daily informative Tours & Tastings where visitors can discover the rich heritage, learn how to taste & pair beer with whiskey & how beers are brewed the Cork Way! ‘We saw a massive increase in tourist in the bar this summer and as a result we had to extend our tours to run daily three times a day’ Says Kate.

Home to some of Ireland’s longest running beer festivals the ‘Well’ also hosts weekly events such as Brewhouse Jazz, Lively Trad Sessions & Traditional Irish Story Telling.  The brewpub opens daily from 1pm with wood fired pizzas being served until 10pm by the delicious Pompeii Pizza.
