 from the Franciscan Well Brewpub

The Franciscan Well is set is host up to 20 Irish craft brewers & distillers at its annual Easter Beer Festival in Cork this coming March 29th to 31st.
Now in its 19th year, the Well’s famous Bavarian style beer tent will house the country’s most innovative brewers including YellowBelly, Kinnegar, Trouble & Torc. ‘ Over the last 19 years the Easter Beer Festival has been a fantastic showcase of the Irish Beer industry, all brewers involved attend the event so it is a great way for people to meet the makers of theirfavorite beers’ says Shane Long, founder of the Franciscan Well.
With the Franciscan Well’s successful collaboration with Jameson in creating Caskmates Whiskey and the opening of their new cocktail bar, MONK, there will be an added element of craft spirits available at the festival.  Festival goers are asked to keep a special eye out for Blacks of Kinsale’s new Rum edition. ‘With the spirit sector undergoing vibrant growth, it is a welcome addition to a festival that is now showcasing the creativity of the whole of the Irish Drinks industry’ says Kate Clancy, Marketing Manager of the Brewpub.
This year the festival will feature an altered tone as it takes place on Good Friday. For over 100 years there has been an alcohol ban in Ireland and the Franciscan Well will be celebrating the lift of the ban in style. Not only will there be an array of beers, spirits & cocktails, Pompeii Pizza will be serving meat filled wood-fired pizzas & wood-fired sausages with beer chutneys. ‘ The change in law is very welcome, particularly for tourists arriving in Ireland over the Easter break. Like all our festivals, we encourage people to drink less but drink better on Good Friday’ Says Noel Finn, Manager of Franciscan Well Brewpub
Doors will open Thursday the 29th of March at 5pm & Friday the 30th & Saturday the 31st at 1pm. Live music will take place every evening from 9pm and admission is free. For more information email
