2017 was another great year for the Munster Wine & Dine Circle with lots of interesting and varied events from tea tastings to beer, gin and wine tastings to farm visits and long lazy lunches. You can read all about each event courtesy of Billy Lyons here at

We are delighted to announce that the 2018 launch will take place on Thursday 8th February at 6pm in L'Atitude 51 on Union Quay with a drinks and canapé reception and a talk and tasting with Toby Simmonds of the Real Olive Company, one of Cork's finest suppliers of Mediterranean products and locally-made Italian style cheeses.
The Real Olive Company began life in 1993 in Cork’s English Market, when Toby, at the age of twenty, took a small stall at the Princes Street end of the market. The stall began with just ten varieties of olives and a few other Mediterranean foods. The Real Olive Company has since gone from strength to strength. In 1994, they launched their first van onto the street markets of Ireland, bringing olives to the rest of the country. In 2009, Toby set up Toons Bridge Dairy with his wife Jenny-Rose Clarke making southern Mediterranean-style cheeses with raw cow and sheep milk. And they have exciting plans for the future, which Toby will share with us on the evening.
The launch will kick off at 6.00pm with a prosecco reception where we’ll welcome new members and everyone will have the opportunity to mingle, followed by a brief presentation and tasting of Real Olive Company Products, after which we will outline the programme for the year with you.
Admission to the launch is free (new and existing members), but capacity is limited, so please RSVP to this address before Friday 2nd February if you'd like to attend.
Existing Members - please note that membership subscriptions for 2018 are now up for renewal. At the last committee meeting, it was agreed not to increase membership subs this year. Therefore, single membership is still €30 and joint membership €50. Please find membership renewal form for 2018 attached. Cheques can be made payable to the MWDC or payment can also be made by bank transfer to the following account. IBAN IE81AIBK93638372852066 (BIC: AIBKIE2D) Please reference your name and “2018 Sub” if choosing this method of payment. Renewals are due by 8th February 2018.
New Members - we are currently accepting applications from new members. If possible, potential new members should be proposed by existing members and new members should send their application before the launch date on 8th February.
However, please note that membership numbers will be capped at 80 for 2018 to ensure that members get the chance to attend as many events as possible. Existing members will be given priority to renew their membership before new members are confirmed.
We think all members should have a voice so that the programme reflects what the members want, so we will shortly send a link to a very quick survey to ask what you’d like to see more of in 2018. The survey takes 1 minute to complete, so we would really appreciate your feedback.
