DUNSLAND: WALLED GARDEN - EASTER EGG HUNT - TOP NOTCH NOSH

DUNSLAND EASTER FUN
Called to Dunsland Garden Centre  the other day and was
delighted with the selection and the advice available.

Peter Dowdall’s place, overlooked by the Fr Matthew Tower, is as much a visitor attraction as it is a garden centre and I took advantage to stroll around the walled garden (pictured, click to enlarge) which they started restoring a couple of years back and which will be the focal point next Sunday and Monday when kids and parents are invited.

Peter: “I would like to invite you to enjoy the gardens in Dunsland this Easter Weekend. We will have an Easter Egg Hunt and face painter for the kiddies. Gardening Experts from around Ireland will be here on the Sunday and Monday including both myself and Kitty Scully from the RTE programme How to Create a Garden, Colin Hughes from Hughes Roses in Dublin and Jim O’Connor from O'Connor’s Bedding Plant Nursery in Wexford.”

“We will also have a fantastic display of Garden Machinery from The Husquarvana Centre and Barbecues from Cork Gas Centre. Many other local businesses, crafters, and food stands will also be here over the weekend. Dunsland will be THE place to be for all things gardening this Easter Weekend.” The event takes place between 11.00am and 5.00pm each day.

The food will be of a high standard as it is being provided by the folks at the nearby Rising Tide Restaurant. The Rising Tide also have an event of their own on the horizon and Sandra Murphy tells me that the Murphy’s Stout Cork Oyster Festival will be held in the Glounthaune restaurant next September. The dates to note are 2nd, 3rd and 4th!
